City Park News
Initial construction of the Norman Cascade Park on the land just East of
North Astor is complete. Additional improvements will be
made as funds become available. This page is a record of the
planning and building process.
Neighborhood City Parks are funded half by contributions from the developer
and half by matching funds from the City. In spring of 2005, the City collected
surveys from Cascade residents, receiving one of the highest response rates
ever! Based on those results and consultation with the Board of Directors, a plan was proposed, and brought before the City
Council.
The Council has since approved funding and phase one construction is complete.
Most of the major work is done, with some items like more trees and grading put in over time.
